Visit statistics and company look-ups are carried out to operate, secure and improve the site and to understand our traffic. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). Information from the contact form and discount codes is processed in order to respond to your enquiry or send you a code.
The ongoing visit statistics via server log (described above) use no cookies or other storage on your device. The only storage in your browser without consent is your own choice in the cookie banner ("Necessary only" / "Accept all"), which is saved locally so you do not have to decide again — this is technically necessary to remember your choice, not tracking.
Because the visit statistics above store nothing on your device, they are not covered by the cookie consent rules. Instead, they are processed under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (legitimate interest) — in the same way that virtually all websites log visits for operational and security reasons.
If you choose "Accept all" in the banner, we also activate Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-YVF24541D0) and Meta Pixel (Facebook). Google Analytics helps us understand how the site is used (e.g. which pages are visited). Meta Pixel helps us measure and target advertising. We use Google Consent Mode v2 in the “advanced” set-up: the gtag.js script may load with the default setting analytics_storage: denied (as well as ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization set to denied). Actual GA4 measurement and associated cookies only take place once you choose “Accept all” — until then, no cookie-based statistics are sent. Meta Pixel only loads after “Accept all”; if you choose “Necessary only”, Meta Pixel does not load at all. After consent, both tools may set cookies in your browser and record, among other things, your visit to the site. Google Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms, Inc. are data processors/recipients of this information and may transfer it to the USA; the transfer is based on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. The visit statistics described at the beginning of this section run unchanged, regardless of what you choose in the banner.
We only share data with data processors that provide our services: our hosting provider (Simply.com), the IPinfo look-up service, Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics, only with consent, see above), Meta Platforms, Inc. (only with consent to marketing, see above) and — if SMS is used — an SMS provider. We do not sell your information.
We retain information for as long as is necessary for the purpose. Visit statistics are deleted automatically after 14 months, and IP look-up data after 6 months. Enquiries and information provided in connection with discount codes are deleted when they are no longer necessary. Data processed via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel is retained and deleted in accordance with Google's and Meta's own rules, which we do not control.
